I am Jackie Rosenheim, founder of ALIGN Therapeutic Yoga

I have been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for a decade. Over time, I began to experience the healing potential of yoga myself. I, like you, have had chronic pain due to scoliosis from the time I was a teen. My teaching allowed me to dive deeper into the practice and experiment with how certain poses felt in my body and discover ways I can make postures more accessible for all bodies. This was the beginning of my dedication to use yoga as a way to heal my own pain. 


We are in an age where doctors often recommend yoga to their patients, however too many studios offer a style that is more athletic and restrictive for people in pain. My style of teaching is gentle, intentional, and  with a primary emphasis on alignment, breath and sensations. My close attention to anatomy, along with my slower, nurturing style, attracted clients that also have pain. By using my body as my greatest teacher and through the use of clear alignment I have developed techniques to manage my own pain. 


My mission transitioned from healing myself to enabling others who suffer from chronic pain with the tools and techniques that I both learned and developed. I worked with many clients in various types of pain and watched them transform from walking into my studio in tears to walking out with a smile on their face. 


But, I realized that I had just scratched the surface and that there was much more to learn. I enrolled in trainings with some of the most knowledgeable experts and teachers from the U.S. and India. I have studied Yoga Therapy with physical therapists, oncologists, psychologists, Ayurvedic practitioners, medical acupuncturists and MDs. My passion for helping people work through their own pain through the use of yoga therapy led me to study with the very best teachers in the world.
